I'm working on Kathleen's wonderful RR block with ethnic theme. The fabrics of the block from Mexico and Guatemala. I wanted to make something like cross stitched gorgeous Mexican embroideries. I started to make a seam treatment with cross stitches with red color. Afterwords I thought a turquoise color will be nice contrast. I made running stitches with 4mm turquoise color silk ribbon on top and the bottom. And then decided to repeat same thing vertically with bright yellow thread. I have some other ideas....I'll share progress....
