Travel Notes, Norway, Chapter#4, Balestrand

Balestrand, an idyllic village on the main Sognefjord with its narrow fjord branches and scenic and lush mountain landscape. If you ask me describe Balestrand with a few words all I can say, high mountains with snowy peaks, deep fjords and peace and silence. This is also my explanation for the entire fjord tours.
Sognefjord is the longest fjord of Norway, its Balestand area  has welcomed tourists since the early 1800s, it  has inspired artists from all over the world, because it is known for its  wonderful light and breathtaking nature all year around. Artists from all over the world have traveled here for inspiration, brought their sketch books or canvases to capture the extraordinary light.

Those visitors left their mark on the architecture of the many villas and large painting collections in some hotels that they stayed for long terms. The wonderful light and breathtaking nature still inspire artists from all over the world.

Our Hotel Midtnes, was a nice building with wonderful vintage decorated lobby and living area with fantastic fjord views.
It is a boutique hotel,  our simple decorated room was at first floor corner, had a big enough balcony with fjord view and mountain view...

Wonderful fjord view from one living room.
This is another living room with another breath taking view.

The decoration of living areas were so impressive for me as being a vintage lover person.
There are many pianos at different holes, so many wonderful painting on the walls, vintage doilies on the table and end tables...

This photos show wonderful view of a window from different angles.

So many wonderful details to feel a totally different, cozy atmosphere feeling like at home but  with an amazing fjord view. I sat at their lovely decorated saloon to watch amazing white night sun till mid night, it was a fantastic experience.
I wish I could have more to time stay there longer. Hope to go there again. If you’re looking for serenity Balestrand is perfect address for you.  I'm unable to upload more photos for this blogging, more details about  Balestrand later....
